What was your best in person experience?
Mine was on a cruise ship when I was 12/13 years old. It was pretty much the turning point for me. Before this I had a nervous hate for dressing up. I would always feel embarrassed and awkward anytime I had to dress up.
This whole cruse was heaven for me. Almost all of the staff was wearing white dinner jackets, white skirts/pants, white shirts and black bowties for the entirety of the cruise. No matter what time of the day you could see a beautiful woman fully dressed up ready to serve. The absolute icing on that cake though were the front desk ladies. They had a separate uniform, a dark skirt suit with nylons and neckties. From the moment I stepped on the ship I was greeted by them. I took any opportunity I could to walk past them.
Towards the end of the cruise my family attended a formal dinner. A full 7-course dinner served by ladies in black tuxedos. Meanwhile I'm uncomfortably wearing a suit, but for the first time it didn't bother me. In fact I quite enjoyed it. So much so that after dinner instead of rushing back to my room to take it off I decided to walk around the ship.
Of course I found myself in the main lobby admiring the front desk ladies out of the corner of my eye. I watched as one of them took out a compact mirror to check her makeup, then she looked at her tie knot and adjusted it slightly. I got up from the couch and walked past her to get back to my room and she told me that I looked very sharp. To an awkward 13 year old this was one of the highest compliments I could of gotten.
Needless to say a switch flipped in my head that evening and I've never been the same since...haha.
So I'm curious what everyone else's best real life experience with a woman in a smart suit and tie is.
