An American's experience in the British Isles
I'm a 24-year-old American man. Ever since puberty I've been crazy attracted to women wearing ties. But in the land of Annie Hall, women wearing ties have gone the way of the landline phone. Businesses who once made women wear ties as part of the uniform have been phasing out said uniforms. Even women who still do wear ties on the job hate it so much that they half-arse the knot and never button their top button. But I've spent the past week or so in the British Isles and as most of the users here are British, I have just one thing to say:
YOU PEOPLE DON'T KNOW HOW LUCKY YOU HAVE IT!
I was absolutely shocked at how many women wear ties on the job (almost none wear a tie voluntarily, but I expected that). JD Wetherspoon bartenders. Airport and train station employees. Even McDonald's employees. I'd mention the numerous public school uniforms, but I'm 24, so............you know. But the best part was that a lot of these women tie a tie better than I do! Top button done, symmetrical knot, tie perfectly centered with the bottom reaching the belt buckle.......GAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! I so wanted to take pictures, but that'd be kind of fucking creepy, lol. Heading to the Continent soon. Hope I will have similar experiences.

Yes you are right. Most of the good hotels in UK and Ireland have a shirt and tie uniform which is well observed. Only negative is a few wear women type blouses with soft collars which spoils the look.
