She is a cast member with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and apparently has portrayed male characters (e.g. Twelfth Night). 

FYI:  Shakespeare had male actors portray female characters in his plays.  So Twelfth Night had a male portraying a female character who in turn was posing as a man.  Victor/Victoria was practically a reverse Twelfth Night when you think about it.

Katy also bares a resemblance to Kristin Davis (who also posed as a man in Sex and the City- episode Boy Girl, Boy Girl).
