Lapel observation
Here's an interesting thought I stumbled across. Not sure if this is the right section or if it even fits in here, but it's sound advice for women and men alike and written in such a drily sardonic manner I couldn't help chuckling.
As we're all probably aware, peaked lapels are preferred on tailcoats and shawl collars can be found on some vintage specimens, but:
"Some modern designers like to dress the ultra-formal tailcoat with the business suit’s informal notch lapel. The only reason for choosing this paradox would be to ensure your fellow guests know that your clothing is rented."
Something to keep in mind!
