Tailcoats in tv/movie
Anybody know of any good movies/shows or videos with women wearing tailcoats? Or tailcoats and gloves?

Try episodes 1x4, 2x7 and 4x3 for the tailcoat. She wears bow ties with less formal suits in many other episodes as well - notably 1x1, 2x1, 2x4, 3x1, 3x3, 3x4, 4x1 and 4x7. (Also, I belive it's spelled "You Rang, M'lord" )

At the end of the episode Patricia Routledge wears a full set of tailcoats, a top hat and gloves and performs the music hall performance "Burlington Bertie from Bow"

Re: Tailcoats in tv/movie
Where to begin? Checking through my collection I can start with movies or TV movies:
Traditional black coat/trouses and white tie:
"Aimée & Jaguar" - Maria Schrader:
"Broadway Melody of 1938" - Eleanor Powell:
"Broadway thru a Keyhole" - several instances. First a couple of unnamed showgirls getting ready:
Then the lead singer - Frances Williams - on stage:
Constance Cummings as one of the backup dancers (and the movie's female lead):
Constance again with an unidentified blonde - some claim it's Ginger Rogers (who's not even credited in the movie), other a young Lucille Ball (who IS, but listed as "girl on beach"). I believe she's just a bit player, but could be wrong:
"Bröderna Mozart" - Iwa Boman:
"Morocco" - Marlene Dietrich. You know this one.
"Släpp fångarne loss, det är vår" - Lena Nyman:
"Viktor und Viktoria", old german movie - Renate Müller:
"Victor/Victoria", 1980's Hollywood remake of the above - Julie Andrews:
"Sweet and Lowdown" - Uma Thurman (although with a yellow waistcoat more fitting a regular suit):
"Stormy Weathers" - Cybill Shepard and Mimi Kuzyk (though rather casual looks, black waistcoats with white polka dots):
White tails and trousers:
"Blonde Venus" - Marlene Dietrich:
"Funny Lady" - Barbara Streisand:
"Kid Millions" - Ethel Merman:
"La Banquiere" - Romy Schneider. (Correction - it's not a tailcoat but a dinner jacket, but she wears the traditional white tie and waistcoat beneath):
Assorted TV series, mini or not:
"Hart to Hart", episode 'Whisper in the Wings' and tv movie 'Crimes of the Hart' - Stefanie Powers, in both cases dancing in fishnets instead of trousers:
"Partners in Crime", episode 'Finessing the King' - Francesca Annis:
"Bekenntnisse des Hochstaplers Felix Krull", 1981 version, don't know which episode - Marie Colbin:
"Tipping the Velvet", more than one episode - Keeley Hawes:
and Rachael Stirling:
"Pushing Daisies", episode 'Corpsicles' - Audrey Wasilewski:
"Star Trek: Voyager", episode 'The Killing Game Part 1' - Kate Mulgrew, white outfit:
I might have more examples from more recent finds in some other folder, have to look for that. Hope these tide you over for a bit!

Ok, first you might want to re-read the entry above - I updated it with some corrections and added screencaps to match the following. I did manage to dig up a few more, and here they are!
A few movies:
"Ball im Savoy" - Rosy Barsony:
"First a Girl", an early british remake of "Viktor und Viktoria" - Jessie Matthews:
"Kiki" - Mary Pickford:
"Två Killar och en Tjej", another case of 'fishnets instead of trousers' - Pia Green:
And one TV sighting:
"Tonight at 8.30", unknown episode - Joan Collins (before and after donning a rather hideous wig for the stage):
If I've missed something and come across it later I'll add it then, but in the meantime it would be interesting to hear if someone else can recall any similar screen appearances!

Wow, didn't take long for me to remember another few...
First a couple of old movies:
"Three Little Words" - Vera-Ellen:
"Lullaby of Broadway" - Doris Day:
And from TV shows:
"Pretty Little Liars", episode 3x13, 'This is a Dark Ride' - Lindsey Shaw
"Boston Legal", episode 2x06 - Tamara Feldman, white outfit:
"Smallville", episodes 8x17, 'Hex' and 9x12, 'Warrior' - Serinda Swan as the iconic magician Zatanna. Maybe a less tradtional take on top hat and tails, but I still count it:
That SHOULD be it for now, but I was wrong as late as yesterday...

I really like this list of yours, I hope you will continue it, making sure that the ladies' white tie and tailcoats are formal and proper.
